Having had a really fun engagement session
with Helen and Dan Rae and myself new we were in for a brilliant time capturing the big day itself.
With Rae shadowing Dan and his groomsmen preparing at his parents house I caught up with the bridal party in the The Maynards
rather awesome prep lounge in sunny Grindleford. They were easy to spot in matching snazzy dressing gowns.
The journey over to All Saints Ecclesall
was made in classic style with an Austin 7.
I think it’s fair to say Dan was a little emotional as Helen walked down the aisle but his grin was back firmly in place for the rest of the ceremony.
It was then back over to the Maynard for drinks and group photos before the wedding breakfast in the beautifully decorated ballroom. Been keen travellers Helen and Dan had ensured a bottle of something from each country they’d visited was on each table accompanied by wedding favour etched shot glasses. Turns out this is a great why to make sure the party starts the moment the DJ does!
With Dans best man older brother Jonny (despite what he claimed in the speech) delivering a best man speech of the year contender, funny, complimentary and the right side of embarrassing for Dan.
We whisked the happy couple off to the top of the valley to capture some portraits whilst the room was prepared the evenings festivities.
Cake cut, first dance danced, the evening continued with a dance floor that never emptied.
The Peakography stereo was on a Britpop playlist with hefty doses of Pulp and Arctic Monkeys throughout editing much like the dance floor at the wedding :-)
