Jothi and Chris, Fischer's Baslow Hall

Tue Sep 13th at 3:00 PM
The sun was shining brightly as I arrived at Baslow Hall to capture Jothi and Chris's day.

The couple were preparing in the traditional manner and, having stayed at the venue the night before in neighbouring rooms, were not seeing each other before the ceremony. This meant some fun sneaking around and "Is the coast clear?" moments whilst capturing the couple’s preparations and details.

As the intimate group of family and friends gathered a local harpist serenaded them in the sun drenched ceremony room.

The ceremony was followed by drinks on the lawn in the glorious August sunshine before being seated for the wedding breakfast, cake cutting and some beautiful thank yous from both the Groom and the Bride.

Coffee and some frankly stunning petit fours were served in the Fischer's lounge. At this point I snuck Jothi and Chris off for some couple portraits; firstly around Baslow Hall itself where it's doorways, archways, ivy covered walls and log stack helped provided stunning backdrops for the relaxed newly wed couple who, I discovered, can turn each other into a laughing mess with just one look!

Then we headed up the hill to Curbar Edge, where the sun was just starting to set and the glorious Derwent Valley stretched out before us.

It was an absolute pleasure to tell the story of this lovely couple’s day, many thanks for having me along!
